After Valentines day and Big Big brothers Birthday [ well on his way to be an Octaterian }

Cario Business is still ongoing and there does not seem to be an end in the immediate future so perhaps a trip is in order although probably have to get paid first to do that. Cant bring my self to use that "Inshalla" word but the situation  has that inevitability about it.

Raking and development continues along and progressing very well in the capable hands of Jamie and the boys.Their attitude and commitment is fantastic considering no air cons in the machines with temperatures  into the high 30s everyday. Ending up covered in blach soot from the burning and the local dust.

Nothing really exciting to report at all just another Mundane week.Only think of note was I went in to town to pick some people up from tje airstrip and the plane went to the wrong town so that caused a reasonably quick drive to the other town.

The normal soldier with logs on the road but unfortunately was going to fast to stop for him and went around on the side he was standing .According to the car following the logs were removed by the time he came past a couple of minutes later.Must remember that for the future when not in doubt just drive straight at them.

Solace in the veggie garden has been a bit of a high light although making a comment to an old mate .

"Cutting down trees for posts and rails for the shade house in over 40' heat thinkong what the fuck am I doing here ?",I asked Maanga Jim the same question and he said "Helping Nuier and teaching him good things" so I guess it all has  purpose in the end. I will have to explain that to my back some time when it stops twitching.

So life goes on in the 193rd country in the world at is own pace some shocking killings in Joongalie State over the river from us a real nut case general going mad. More people arriving from the North repatriating themselves to their former home areas. This certainly going to cause some huge humanitarin problems.food ,housing [building their own grass huts],drinking water.clothes etc.Inflation has started to take hold with prices of most things going up every fortnight if not weekly, and not as many shops open or supply trucks coming in.I alsmost feel guilty buying things in the market but then the majority dont have any money to buy any thing any way.

Photos this week ?? not much will see what is in the Library.

ready for school??

The week that was 13/02/2011

Pretty mundane really except for the Cairo demonstration that will have more than likely a detremental affect on us .As that is where our lords and masters reside and we have had a hard time getting carry on money from them in the paast now the banks are shut ot international transfers which is quite understandable .But we need a couple of million right now to keep going,

The trip to Europe was successful with two banks wanting to run with us which is great but by the time we do al the environmental social economic and due dilibence will be a year as yhey cannot officaly start till Soth Sudan becomes its own country in July as we are techciacly Sudan still and all the sactions still stand .

So pretty much sudaned out at present sick of not being able to move forward with out going back first still have a couple of irons in other fires that have arisen in the last week so time will tell.

Went into Bentiu earlier in the week and was dropping of some sticks or here it is building material for one of the soldierd=s out in the very much boondocks ,
We were driving along and were stopped at a spot due to goats children and a power cord  and we out of the truck.when Maanga Jim says Duck Meesta Tim so being the old duck hunter from way back scans the skys until my suspect hearing eventualy hears the close retort of an AK being used [ quiet distinct was also audiable as we left Juba the week before] in a rather aggresive manner so I did then duck and I must admit rather quickly. All was quiet and into truck and off then more shots so then Steven our soldier body guard decided he needed to be inviolved so he bails out of truck Locked and loaded not I am sure for my Protection but just like a pig hunt to be involved in the capture, bringing down of what was a drunken soldier having some severe dilusions but I could not believe it was like a school yard playground when there is a fight .People coming from every wher to see what was going on .

so never a dull moment here then to the  total oppsite of that I must have sen the Falata move a mob of 10,000 sheep and goats across the road they took over an hour to cross the road just ????

The Photos  this week come from Zach who is Sudanese and works here and has become a mate /he is the govs source of information/a politician and wants to be a farmer and is teaching me Nuier cant do english well so he has no hope

Back Home

Back Home/

All is gwarlong to be home and in the Containerial Penthouse  that it is.The boys have been rely busy while I have been away and Sticked Raked a 1000 acres ready to disc and form up our beds so might have stay away more a;though I maudt thank Jamie Dennis and Maria our new Aussie and Argentinian Kawagas who have bought much Vigor to our project.

Quite a suriel experience  in Juba the other night from 5 star plush Europe and London with 50 quid bottles of wine with my old mate Jill to having a $1.50 Large stubby with my Ugandan driver in an Eritrean owned bar in Juba . Being called a white nigger by an over drunk Sudanese who has lived in Australia. Mind u this is probably what the staff of the 5 star places think?  {the owner is Eritrean and lives in Beiging when not in Juba,] you meet all kinds on this job never a dull moment .
So off we went home along the new road >>?? .Incident free except for two minor ones when a few logs were set up to stop the unsuspecting car driver but hey a bit of nifty driving solved the problem and I think they were so poor they had no bullets in the AK’S as we did not get shot at .
They certainly have a different attitude to life and must be a bit more presentable as Bandits. as I don’t Know too many if any people who would stop for a man carrying an AK in one hand and a Machette in the other Just not  done.

The area this happened is just so 7th world if is not even stone age just stick age, no house just living under trees kids no clothes the rest rags no water, food just absolutely nothing.

Could be any bush road in the world

Where they stop is where they stay being there a couple of years
