21/8/2010

Hung Parliment I see on the net and my mate ironbar out and replaced with another from Kalgoorlie .Tony will make a few waves I am sure and will keep Rural WA at the front of his agenda.
Still assembling machines here another scari chiesel and nearly finished a big set of hydraulic harrows, rotocoms next

Seed has arrived from various places in Sudan and Uganda all we are waiting for is the Planter if not here soon will just get people to sit on Scarifier and will drop it in by hand. Logistics still a problem with freight not arriving even after being told it is on the plane .Get used to it after a while and dont count on any thing until it has arrived hopefully in one piece which does not always happen either.

Still hot and humid with the odd cool night last night was revolting no sleep at all will be glad to get a bit of colld next month to catch up on some sleep have gone back to the old days of 6hrs or less so it does not do me much good.

No rain this week so will be able to start benching again tommorrow as should be dry enough to do so get ready for the new Kitchen which is in Port Sudan and ready to come down ??? heard that before .

Grass has gone balistic this week with some spots up to 3 m high certainly just takes off once it has its roots organised I suspect it will not be that easy to kill Dual Gold has hardly any affect on it at all Roundup ok for knockdown.

So quite a Mundane week realy Kobus back from R&R Steve and frank away for theirs only about 10 Zims and we seem to be achieving more with less people which is good .

Rain/machinery assembley/cemetery

Beayn Sabatoures last resting spot [Dont F234678890, with the bosses beayns]

Rain Flattens everything

From this to this

The Spans [Zim for spanner]

Wake up 30degrees 95% humidity clothes feel like they have come out of a spi  drier skin oosess its oil and sticky sweet sor most of the morning a nother day in paradise at least the air is too heavy for the bloodsuckers to fly so they just crawl instead.
Truck from Khartoum arrives every thing is wet and all that is breakable is nearly ready to use as road base the driver has no attitude at all just dose not care put in the back and who cares what happens Inshalla nothing to do with him .

Young Jim went off on an adventure and spent the night bogged to the balls so we had to mount a rather complex towing out operation about 10 ks down the road luckily he was only 70m off the road and we had enough cable he now knows that the road with water on it does not take cars nothing like first hand experience to find out wont hurt him.

Have got our numbers back and more off tommorrow we will then be at a resonaable crew size for what we are able to do which is not much and the consistancy of the rain is what stops us not the amunt every few mm now makes it a couple of days not a few hours and you sure get sick of sqelching in the mud carrying mud inside into the cars all over your clothes .Oh for a hot shower so u actually feel clean and cleansed the novelty of cold does where off  after awhile.
Ones sanity is at stake [and was questined this morning] have been pretty wound ,not sleeping for a few nights does not help frustration at all the chinese shit that has been bought either does not work  not compatable and not standardised, with any thing and all th directions in chinese as we progress through the month with the continual driving and supervison of people as the lack of self discipline, improvement and thought has been taken from them over many generations and is just not forth coming and is plain hard work to maintain a quality standard of work manship for any jobs let alone any thing complex always looking for the short cut.

BUT HEY ITS A CHALLENGE .

First Week August

8/8/2010

Has been dry this week so have done some more plowing and feel we can get some maize in if we are lucky have bought some from the Governor and we are busy assembling a scarifier and trying to get a planter down from Kosti so you never know your luck in the bush what can happen.

So what happens today we get 32mm rain in about 40mins so will slow us a bit but we can still seed even if  the planter does not arive in time .just have people sitting on the back of the scarifier and we drop it in by hand and just cover it with the harrows it will be ok.

The view from the palatial penthouse is just green every where  with vegie garden taking pride of place but this canot be conveyed to the horticultural department as they will think they are doing a good job .
This department needs to under constant watch as there is very good evidence that they have sabtouged my Beayns as I am constantly told is how I pronounce it for me it sounds like beans.
Any how the thrust of the story is that I had some beans and butter nut pumpkins sown just out on the flat no real preparation and they were doing very well indeed .In fact better than the garden departments Beayns and as a result were sprayed supposedly accidentally with dual gold the day before one of their so called experts went on holiday. My champion crop has gone into a state of total depression and as a result has stopped growing much to the delight of the horticultural department and there cunning plan to stifle the bosses crops.
This of course means they will now get less resources from the farming side and we will simply out grow them and leave them in our wake in a constant state of behindness and never quite sure of the revenge planned.

Will be down to about 10 in the camp as of next week due to the wet hopefully finally arriving .So we will all have to get on and see if we can rig up some dry area work shops under the containers the straight down part is ok but the wind tends to blow every thing in under the roofs sp need to make up some walls. Have stick rakes to fit and this requires some constant welding for  a couple of days and also some more containers to convert into accommodation.

The hyenas and jackals[fox] plus the odd mongoose have been giving the camp bins a fair old hiding over the past week and are not good at putting the rubbish back in the bins after they have finished rummaging through as a result we have to do a emu stalk nerly every day even the fence we put around them does not seem to be all that effective but we will keeep ungrading and sanity will prevail.
Count down to final committment from Citadel is continuing and we have 2 weeks left of the time frame they promisd it would happen ,Seeems most Araps just drip enough money into their operations until it nearly stops and then start the drip feed again. So lets hope the Egyptians are a bit different and there past trend changes.
